Job Description
The IT Assistant will provide comprehensive end-user and departmental support across the organization, ensuring smooth operation of all IT systems and assets. This role encompasses troubleshooting, maintenance, and support tasks, including the management of hardware, software, and network systems. The IT Assistant will also play a key role in project kick-offs, asset tracking, and the development of solutions to new IT challenges.
Key Responsibilities
End-user Support:
Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and networking issues.
Respond to support tickets promptly.
Provide support for project kick-offs and integration.
Perform light repair, maintenance, and replacement of hardware on desktops, laptops, and other hardware assets.
Facilitate repair of assets through suppliers and contracted technicians.
Departmental Support:
Support all departments in utilizing tools and resources to complete their mandates efficiently.
Requisitions Processing:
Receive and process requisitions for new project kick-offs, IT consumables (e.g., ink cartridges/toners), device replacements, upgrades, maintenance, and repairs.
IT Systems Maintenance:
Maintain the organization's local networks (LAN and WAN) through local servers and MS Entra Administration.
Set up and configure new workstations for all projects and staff (new and existing).
Create, configure, and maintain user accounts for local logins, email, and MS 365.
Create, apply, and update security and access policies.
Monitor biometric systems set up at various sites.
Monitor and maintain shared resources such as printers and shredders to ensure they are in good working condition.
Asset Tracking:
Document critical information, assignees, location, condition, and movement of IT assets within the company.
Solution Development:
Develop systems and solutions on-demand for new challenges or user needs.
Promotional Material Design:
Collaborate with the communications assistant and customer relations to design and maintain promotional material.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate diploma or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in an IT support role.
Strong knowledge of IT systems, software, and hardware.
Experience with network management and system administration.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
