Job Description

Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products

Key Responsibilities

i. Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
ii. Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration
iii. Perform engineering calculations to support design and maintenance work
iv. Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
v. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
vi. Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
vii. Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
viii. Perform Data Centre facilities systems installation and configurations
ix. Actively involved in the maintenance and repairs of buildings and equipment to minimize ‘downtime’
x. Co-provide input on power usage and for capacity planning
xi. Respond to alarms escalate alarms according to guidelines
xii. Work to improve efficiency, sustainability, environmental impact, automation, human resource utilization, documentation and/or control.
xiii. Respond to data centre performance issues and outages, inspect, maintain, and repair various data centre systems.
xiv. Provide engineering expertise, guidance, and technical assistance.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications & experience
i. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar area of study.
ii. Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
iii. Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE)
iv. Minimum of 0 – 2 years’ experience as a technician in mechanical or industrial environment.
v. Knowledge of data centers is an added advantage.
vi. Knowledge of HVAC and fire suppression in an advantage
