Job Description
As the communications assistant you will be expected to create engaging content for various communication channels including but not limited to social media, newsletters, website and internal communications. You will also be responsible for coordination and assistance in organization and planning of events, conferences and trade shows, maintaining and updating the content on the company website to ensure accuracy and relevance.
The communications assistant is expected to be an excellent communicator in both written and oral forms and of keen attention especially to current affairs, market and industry trends
Key Responsibilities
i. Assist in the development and execution of the company's communication plans and strategies.
ii. Create engaging and informative content for various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, website, and internal communications.
iii. Conduct research on industry trends, market insights, and competitor analysis to support communication initiatives.
iv. Coordinate and assist with the organization of events, conferences, and trade shows, including logistics, materials preparation, and promotional activities.
v. Maintain and update the company's website content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
vi. Monitor and respond to inquiries and comments on social media platforms, engaging with the audience in a timely and professional manner.
vii. Assist in the production of marketing materials, such as brochures, presentations, and reports.
viii. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
ix. Support internal communication efforts by assisting with employee newsletters, announcements, and other internal communications materials.
x. Monitor media coverage and industry news related to Africa Global Logistics, identifying opportunities for proactive communication and PR initiatives.
xi. Assist with the coordination of media relations activities, including drafting press releases, media pitches, and arranging interviews.
Minimum Qualifications
i. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
ii. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a communications role, preferably in the logistics, transportation, or related industry.
iii. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
iii. Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
iv. Demonstrated ability to create compelling content for different audiences and platforms.
v. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
vi. Familiarity with graphic design software and video editing tools is a plus
vii. Proactive and self-motivated attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends.
viii. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
