Job Description

Quality Health Safety & Environment Supervisor will be charged with supporting the implementation of Quality Health Safety and Environment (QHSE) Management Systems in compliance with the company statutory and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Participate in the site risk assessment to generate the overall risk register for the operations
2. Participate in the development and reviews of the SOPs and WIs to guide the operations
3. Participate in the enforcement of the control measures established in the risk assessment report.
4. Conduct regular audits to minimize non conforming activities and identify opportunities for improvement.
5. Promote behavioral based change among the staff to inculcate positive safety culture at all times.
6. Participate in client health and safety committee meetings and decimate the actions across all the teams on the site.
7. Support to secure, a safe and healthy working environment throughout the site.
8. Identify QHSE training needs and facilitate delivery of the training.
9. Conduct periodic tool box meetings with teams on safety matters among others.
10. Report all incidents and accidents occurring within the sites and ensure the sites meet all statutory and client requirements of reporting.
11. Oversee health and safety operations on site and prepare periodical reports.
12. Participate in development of emergency response procedures and evaluation plans and ensure all personnel are aware of the plans, procedures and assembly point.
13. Constitute a Health, Safety and Environment Committee for the Company that meet company regulations and local legislation and ensure it is active and its members are trained accordingly.
14. Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipments are available, in good condition and sufficient for all employees and undertake periodic PPEs audit.
15. Support in managing all HSE incidents at the site including developing 5 Why incident reports.
16. Induct all new employees on site on all health, safety and environmental policy and regulations to ensure their safety.
17. Undertake periodic safety surveys, inspections, audits and prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been put in place.

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma n Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or science related field
Working knowledge of Management Systems e.g., QMS ISO 9001, EMS ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 etc.
NEBOSH IGC is an added advantage
