Job Description
The Support Engineer will be expected to support the resident team with skills and technical knowledge to develop plans and coordinate projects, ensure safety compliance and contribute to projects through electrical design and implementation. You will also contribute to projects through testing, troubleshooting, documentation and reporting.
Your work environment will demand a strong knowledge of food and safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Coordination
i.Collaborate with project managers and coordinators to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
ii. Assist in development of electrical project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline.
iii. Assist in coordination of project activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgetary constraints.
iv. Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
v. Execute electrical projects, ensuring adherence to specifications, codes, and safety standards.
vi. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and machinery.
2. Electrical Design and Implementation:
i. Contribute to the design and implementation of electrical systems for projects in the food industry.
ii. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all electrical designs.
iii. Conduct field inspections and surveys to gather data for project planning and execution.
iv. Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
v. Support the procurement process by assisting with vendor selection, material procurement, and cost estimation.
vi. Assist in project documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
vii. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
3. Safety Compliance:
i. Prioritize and implement safety procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
ii. Conduct regular safety assessments and audits, addressing any potential hazards promptly.
iii. Develop and implement safety protocols for electrical projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
iv. Provide training and guidance to project team members and contractors on safety procedures.
4. Food Safety Knowledge:
i. Demonstrate knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
ii. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure electrical systems align with food safety requirements.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
i. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
ii. Generate regular progress reports and communicate effectively with project teams.
6. Testing and Troubleshooting:
i. Conduct testing and troubleshooting activities on electrical systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree/B-Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. 2-5 years of experience in project management or engineering.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in electrical work.
5. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in manufacturing/food industry is a plus.
