Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for representing the company in court litigation, providing legal advice, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
i. Represent the company in court litigations and other legal proceedings.
ii. Provide accurate and timely legal advice and guidance on various matters affecting the Company relating to amongst others, obligations, risks, labour and employment.
iii. Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
iv. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal compliance in business operations.
v. Manage relationships with external legal counsel when necessary.
vi. Assist in the development and implementation of legal strategies to protect the company's interests.
vii. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the company's operations.
viii. Manage and oversee the resolution of disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation when necessary.
ix. Preparing detailed reports and status updates on various legal matters
x. Keeping a record of all legal documents and proceedings for the company
xi. Coordinate a program of training and capacity-building activities for managers covering all key areas of compliance policy and practice.
Minimum Qualifications
i. Bachelor of laws, LLB from a recognized University.
ii. Post-Graduate Diploma from the Kenya school of Law.
iii. Admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 5 years post qualification experience
iv. Current practicing certificate.
v. In-house legal experience.
vi. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
vii. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
viii. Proven track record of successfully handling litigation matters.
